my prom dream come true!!!! ♥

i never went to any prom. not when i was a junior, not when i was a senior, not at any other schools' prom. i had issues with my then-boyfriend that caused me to miss this major event in a high school kids' life.

i never went to any prom..

til i was 26 years old.. :))))

vince is the program director for football at feu-fern, and because he was invited as faculty, he asked me to be his date. it was such a dream come true!!!! so much so that i immediately called one of my favorite designers, joey samson, to rush a gown for me, and one of my favorite make up artists, steven doloso, to do my make up for me, and my hair stylist for a decade now, alex carbonell, to do my hair. hahaha, CAREER! well, its a dream come true right? so why not a dream team to help fix me up too? i think it was all worth it because when vince saw me all dolled up, all he was able to say was, "WOW." aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw.. that moment made all the preparations worth it. :) and of course i will say that vince looked amazing in his randy ortiz suit. :)

of course, we had the obligatory "full body prom photo before leaving the house". :p

i can't believe the invitation had our names on it! i was sooo kilig. i felt so high school all over again. as in i actually felt a little nervous that moment before stepping out of the car and that moment before stepping into the venue!

vince had six scholars for football who attended that prom, all from out of manila, and so we all helped put together outfits for the boys. vince sponsored their white polos, they all got their suits and ties from a rental, and i'm sooo thankful to converse for sponsoring their super cool leather high cut chuck taylors!! they looked so cool decked out in suits but casual in chucks!!

i actually also felt half feeling, and half left out, kasi hindi na pala uso ang full long gown to proms nowadays?! hahaha! 95% of the girls were in cocktail dresses! i stuck out like a sore thumb in my black ball gown, but then i felt like a princess. so that was okay. hahaha.

being around a decade older than these high school kids, of course there was no chance we could win "prom king and queen".. hahaha. (asa pa! but honestly, yes umasa ako ng slight! :p hahaha!) but the next best thing happened, because although we couldn't win it, we did give out the award for "prom king and queen"!!!! that isn't us slow dancing in the photo, but then during the second slow song, vince asked me to dance my first slow dance everrrrrr.... :)))) (sorry cheesyyyy!)

more than just us enjoying, we had so much fun watching the boys have fun. they're all from different provinces in the country, and this was their first "glamorous" event ever, and it was awesome seeing them enjoying themselves! it was especially awesome to see one of the most shy boys, nash, ask this cute girl he likes, to slow dance with him. aaaaaaaaaaaw....

thank you for sharing my first ever prom experience with me!!!! :p cheers to many more firsts! despite being years late, it really is never too late to have a "first". :)

It's the Sweetest Bianca!:) I loved this line: "95% of the girls were in cocktail dresses! i stuck out like a sore thumb in my black ball gown, but then i felt like a princess. so that was okay. hahaha"

Super sweetness and super cheezy pero super enjoy ko ang blog mo. Nareminisce ko tuloy ang HS prom namin! Buti ikaw naisayaw ka ni Vince, ako di ako naisayaw ng crush ko kasi I was no where to be found - naka kalat sa dance floor. hehehe

Well, that was a nice blog for this week. I was lucky to have prom two in a row (Junior year and Senior year) because I early understand that it is vital. Gladly, you still remember to be in a prominade kasi it is one of te highlights of your life. I mean pwede natin syang i-consider na isa sa mga Sacraments... in my point of view... so, that's nice you came back. One of my dream dates in a prom is YOU actually. That's all.

We had Senior Prom in highschool but since we're in a Catholic School, we never experienced the slow dance... The School Director didn't allow sweet songs, only club songs ... huhuhu... Sad... Until now, I haven't experienced being invited for a slow dance in the floor...

But, like you said, "it really is never too late to have a first." I hope I'll have mine soon...☺

oh noh ang huli ko na s ablog na 'to kasi..ang gwapo ni Vince hay naku so happy for you Bianca!

Hi Bianca,

I missed a lot of news about you lately. So, Vince is the current (and hopefully the last) love of your life. I told you there is life after that director. Did I just say I told you so?

Luckily for you, you didn't wait for god to bring that other guy back to you. Otherwise, you would leave this world a spinster. God is too busy making sure the sparrows fly to worry about something so trivial as your heart.

Now, about that idea of yours to take up philosophy, may I now take this opportunity to dissuade you from further pursuit of that ephemeral objective? If you study philosophy in Ateneo you will be assimilated further into the religious and philosophical gobbledygook of that school. Instead, take up some other pursuit more suited to your temperament. May I suggest law instead? The Ateneo law school is one of the best in the country. Take advantage of it.

I'm not joking, law is one of the most practical philosophies there is. The philosophy of law involves more of the reasoning, scholarship and logic that you fell in love with in religious philosophy. Furthermore, unlike religion, legal philosophy is immensely practical and more rigorous than the problems of religion. Religious philosophy discuss questions that cannot be answered because they ask questions that don't mean squat in the real world. The ideas of indulgences, limbo of the infants, purgatory etc., were born of brilliant minds shackled by religion.

In contrast, legal philosophy deals with the problems of
human conduct in the light of society. It is every bit
as interesting as your favorite philosophy. Knowledge of law will
also give you the legal and practical tools you need to further your social advocacies.

Think about it, Bianca.

I now leave you with something for your mind to chew on.
The following link is your introduction
to legal philosophy. It's called the CASE OF THE
SPELUNCEAN EXPLORERS. Take care.
