its not only words.
gary valenciano once said in an interview, "you know that saying? the one that goes, 'sticks and stones may break my bones, but words won't hurt me'? that's a lie. words are so powerful."
i agree.
words of wisdom from a wise man.
habang nakikinig ako sa dzmm noong isang umaga, sa programang tambalang failon at sanchez, pinakinig ni sir ted sa mga listeners ang isang tula ni jose f. lacaba, sa interpretasyon ni armida siguon-reyna. words are powerful indeed, and so i would like to share this with you.
tagubilin at habilin.
words of wisdom from little children.
during my vacation last january, we found the "unicef world wall of peace" in a commercial center in oakland. it was a whole wall of tiles, where one child was assigned to be the artist of one tile. it was a beautiful wall full of beautiful sayings that the children thought of themselves. words are so powerful.
"you must be the change that you wish to see in the world."
"the person who says it cannot be done should not get in the way of the person doing it."
akalain mo ba namang galing sa mga bata yan? kids sometimes say the darnest things, but sometimes, they make the most sense too.
words of wisdom from good friends.
pagkatapos ng halos isang taon, nagkasama ulit kami nina father tito at ryan. two of my closest friends whose opinions in life i really value so much. masarap mag-usap tungkol sa buhay kapag busog sa libreng lunch (salamat, ry!!) at may kasama pang wine and cheese. naks.
"you must get rid of your shadows."
..father tito
"your self-image, and other people's perception of you, if they are one and the same, that's self-actualization. at kailangan mo pala gawin yun several times in your life."
..ryan

words are indeed powerful,
if actions can speak louder than words,
then words can hurt you much more than actions..
i remembered this line said by the late Rico Yan in a certain movie, that iba ang physical scar sa emotional scar.
coz emotional scars will forever be a mark right there in your heart.
ooooh, i like what father tito said. :) i'd like to share this quote i found while bloghopping:
At some point, you have to make a decision.
Boundaries don't keep other people out.
They fence you in.
Life is messy.
That's how we're made.
So, you can waste your lives drawing lines.
Or you can live your life crossing them.
~ Meredith Grey (Grey's Anatomy)
Fly free Biancz! =)
That's indeed an enlightening poem. Kind of reminds me of Baz Luhrmann's "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)"
It's always wise to think twice (or thrice) before you say or write something, because once words are unleashed, you can't take them back. And there's no telling how much damage your words can cause.
Yun nga lang, madali itong sabihin pero napakahirap gawin.
i believe that words are powerful talaga.. :)
i like what ryan said. kakatuwa mga ganyang conversations, madami kang matututunan at marerealize.
hi bianca,
si gandhi ata ang talagang may sabi nung:
you must be the change you want to see in the world.
btw. i love your posts. keep them coming!
conversation with close friends is indeed priceless! in a major way!
Kaya nga be careful sa mga bibitawang salita. After hearing it, it might do good for someone, on the other hand naman it might have a misconception sa iba.
With just one word, kayang mabago ang mundo. That's why words are so powerful.
indeed,words are powerful. . .
action nga speaks louder than words therefore words can hurt us more than actions. . .
words can affect us more emotionally, emotional scars can be left behind by such words.
my classmate said once,"saktan mo na ako physically, wag mo lang ako pagsalitaan ng masama."
and words can affect mostly on children who are just growing up. . .
kaya nga im in favor of physical discipline, than saying such words to a child who did a mistake. . .
pero sa sermon, ung words na hindi masama sa pandinig, words na hindi masama ang dating sa bata, kumbaga ieeksplika lang sa bata ung mali dun sa ginawa niya. . .at yung sa pagdicipline physically, eh dapat hindi naman violent, dapat mild lang. . .
hay. . . sigurado may hindi sang ayon sa akin, . . jejeje. . .
nice entry ate bianca. . .=)

yeah, i agree. totally.
totoo nga pala ano---the wisest people in the world are the children....
go!
words - its the power we all have, all of us, that doesn't chooses the bearer. we all know even kids have such power.
bianx, you never fail to amaze me with your posts.
and i thank God for that one moment i was able to meet you.
take care supergirl!
words are really powerfu...
Nakaka tuwa yung tula, nakapulot ako ng malaking aral. ;p
hey bianca, nabisita nako dito long time ago,blg leave kapa nun eh, anyways, belated happy bday! ;p
I had the pleasure of meeting Pete Lacaba once, along with Armida Siguon-Reyna, Joey Ayala, Heber Bartolome. Their words blew me away, too.
wow! thanks Biancs! i finally got the script of this poem! =) you're right i heard it first from Tambalang Failon and Sanchez's radio program. Ted said it was given to him by Ricky Davao and he asked him to listen to it. a lot of times i want to record it but there wasn't available tape on hand, so can i ask your permission if i can copy it and post it in my site also? add ko na rin that the musical scoring is done by no less than Mr. C, Ryan Cayabyab himself. =) how i wish that they would make a video out of it, ang galing noh! ang sarap papanuorin sa mga Pilipino at kabataan lalo na malapit ng eleksyon. i can say this is a great material for everyone's perusal.
stay happy and thanks in advance! =)
TRUE! Diba sabi sa Bible. be careful sa words that your mouth speaketh...kasi para daw syang two-edged sword... (Tama ba pinagsasabi ko? Biglang nagdoubt noh)

Your uber right, its not only words...as our parish priest have said "words are the sharpest object that harm a human"
And we humans carry that object...so we should be very careful about it.

i think i found the same quote but with a different ending in one of robert fulghum's book.
sticks and stones may break our bones but words will break our hearts.

hi po! link exchange?... hehe.. cool blog...
where do we start in removing our shadows? I realized shadows came with a chain and sometimes I can't figure out how to unlock it.
words of wisdom... i got few from HER. few years ago when i started working, i like browsing the net. Then i came across this super bianca blog. she was a model then. low profile. few knew her. that makes her cool. she wrote simple things pero malupit. she'll make u think... and you'll say.. oo nga. i like everything that she wrote, from her boy friend who doesnt watch local channels to her sandara-hero loveteam craziness, you'll say she's a human... totoong human. pretty, atenista, may kaya.... but may diskarte sa buhay. i always made a point that i check her blog once in awhile. I'm not a stalker but a fan of how she looks on her life. Then she became a host in a morning show... what a shock... i'm sure she'll leave her blog in the air... so it was. She entered a house and people say things about her. and i said... sayang ang tanga nya.. i like zanjoe ... but not with her. di ko pagpapalit si cayetano for a model.... but as i watched my 24 x 7... maybe she's inlove with him... and people should leave it to her. I still like her... the sophistication and strength is still there when she went out... things came too fast, she has her new show named BLOG... but her blog.. superbianca.. is disabled. i hate it coz i cant access her previous entry... i want to read it again... i know i learned something from one or two of her blog..... while browsing multiply... i saw her link again.. sabi ko disabled naman na yan e... sikat na sya.. she wont waste time to write. but i gave it a shot. to my dismay... she's back... and her previous blog is open for readers. shes back... destiny may change... but her writing.. is still her. The passion of life is still there... from the day i saw her blogsite... from her reklamo na october sya gagraduate to her missing the school.. to her big brother silence... and now... so to her... i wrote this beacause i want her to know that once in her life she wrote something that touched someone... and to her comeback... Fly!!! FROM MERIDITH GREY: "Communication. It's the first thing we really learn in life. Funny thing is, once we grow up, learn our words and really start talking the harder it becomes to know what to say. Or how to ask for what we really need. "
balik ka na ulit ah..
insightful conversations, nakaka-miss mga ganyan.. yes indeed, malaki ang ngagawa ng mga salita..
hi, im pol, nagiging fan na ako nitong blog nyo.. :)
Hi Bianca! :) Words are indeed powerful. Words sometimes say it all.
P.S. Belated happy birthday! =P
truly ate bianca,
words are so powerful.
you know, by reading your blog..
i learn so much.
i have yet to meet somebody who can let words completely pass through the other ear. They say that hearing and listening are two differnet things. Hearing is involuntary, listening involves greater neurons to do. I tried doing selective listening before- letting good things come in and keeping bad things out. It never worked! ;-) I guess that when you choose to really listen there is no option to filter negative things out. The challenge lies in what you do with the negative things- either let it get to you, consume you or; you do whatever you can to prove that negative thing wrong making whoever said it eat their words.
(Darn! I need to work on following my own advice. Hehe...) God bless you in whatever you do Biancs. It would be nice to have more Biancas around to serve as good role models.
hi,biancs!ur back na pala!i'm still trying to write in mine pa,super pagod from work most of th time eh.haaay.miss na miss mo na si jc sa pictures, grabe!
words are so powerful talaga.
Godbless u always!

naks bianca! buti naman at balik blogging ka na! namiss ko ang mga perceptions mo!Ü
My sister took a photo of you from her digital camera during the fashion show at Rockwell Tent and she uploaded it on her Picasa. Maybe you wanna take a look kasi sabi niya "Thought twice about uploading this. What the hell I dont think Bianca Gonzales will visit this site." Hahaha Just wanted to surprise her.
Blurred 'yung photo eh. She'll make a poor paparazzo. Thanks for telling me; I totally forgot about the link. :P Here's it is: http://picasaweb.google.com/achiemoon/March24PhilFashionWeek/photo#5045747253744637762
hi bianca
i think the quote about being the change one wants to see in the world is by mahatma gandhi.
:)
glad your blog is up again.
take care bianca:)
t.
I would always stop to listen to that poem of Jose Lacaba. I love it and it really tells the truth.
Anyway, is it okay if I copy it? I mean, I'm dying to have copy.
sobrang ganda tlga nun poem na yun. napakinggan ko kc habang nkasakay sa taxi. :)
"You must be the change you want to see in the world" is easily from Mahatma Gandhi.
Wow, gulat naman na posted dito ang tula kong "Tagubilin at Habilin." May nagbalita lang sa akin recently, e last year pa pala ito. Salamat po nang marami sa pagpapahalaga sa tula ito. Flattered naman ako na tinawag itong "Words from a Wise Man." Hindi po yata ako karapat-dapat na matawag na Wise Man. Baka Dirty Old Man ;-)
I also discovered something new about Bianca Gonzalez: favorite professor pala niya sa college ang kaklase kong si Leo Garcia.
Kaya lang, ewan ko kung saan galing ang kopya ng tula na posted dito. Apparently, someone transcribed the poem from the Armida Siguion-Reyna CD. Me inaccuracies, including sa capitalization at punctuation. To get the correct text, check out my newly created blog, http://kapetesapatalim.blogspot.com/
