back to school!
i went back to my alma mater, the ateneo de manila university, for one reason.. manangs!!!!
welcome to manangs. an institution in the ateneo campus, as much as the blue eagle gym or the gonzaga, kostka, or faura building. this was my most favorite place to eat at when i was a student!!!! alamat ang manangs. located by the college covered courts and right beside the tennis court, manangs is the most delicious, most laid back, most home-y place to eat in when in ateneo.
they are famous for their breaded porkchop! it goes perfectly with papa banana ketchup! and i just recently discovered they now serve binagoongan! super yummy too!
my personal favorite is the liempo. to. die. for!!!! i'm a big liempo person and the manangs liempo is one of the best i've ever had. haha! i also tried their adobo i must say its a winner too!
eating at manangs is happiness! if you ever find yourself inside the campus, you must eat here. :) i felt like i was transported back into time and with my white sando, jeans, and flats get up, i felt like i fit right in! like i was a student all over again! hmm.. pwedeeee!
took the chance to check out the new buildings in the campus and i must say the campus looks sooo different! since i graduated, the campus has changed so much! there's a huge cafeteria by the jg-som building, and there are landscaped gardens and sculptures nicely placed around the campus!
i was so impressed to see the mvp center which is where the org building, colayco, used to be! a place for students to hang out in, this building is insanely nice! in fact, the ground floor has a fully functional bookstore (as in they sell all school supplies you will need, they even have a mini mac center, and a whole area for ateneo shirts!) and even a bo's coffee! whaaaat?!
i wanted to visit my favorite professor who i feel changed my life, dr. leovino garcia of the philosophy department, but he wasn't in at the time. i sat in his class a few years ago and even wrote a blogpost about it (click here to read my nerdy thoughts!) and i plan to sit in again sometime. i vow to visit him soon!
going back to school is refreshing and inspiring. i suggest you visit your alma mater once in a while! it makes you feel the idealism, positivity, hopefulness that you felt when you were a student, all over again!
amdg. go ateneo!

I think Dr. Garcia's really proud of you. I was his student for two semesters in 08-09, and he tells stories about you. :)

Hi Bianca, the campus looks nice! I visit five or six colleges when I first visited back in '98 and that's not one of themm I would love to visit that college campus when I come back for a visit. Is that college uniformed required school? I know out of the colleges I visited, only one do not require uniforme -UP. That's probably why I fell inlove with the school.

It's so nice seeing you going back at the old times, how you never forget those that contribute to what as you are now. Such a humble girl. :)
I love the breaded pork chop. But instead of ketsup, I have it with toyo-calamansi-sili. Plus Mountain Dew!
Before Bo's Coffee, that was a Figaro.

Inspite of being famous and blessed, you still stay humble. you inspire students, like us, to enjoy school and not to despise it. ate bianx, you are really a role model for everyone.
It's awesome to read a blog like this. Thanks for sharing bianca..

Hi, Bianca. I'm just a random follower from Manila, college freshman. It's my first time to visit your blog and actually read your posts. I think you're a good host, but you're a better writer. I love how you express your thoughts, simple yet heartwarming. You are able to convey your emotions with ease and so much sincerity.
I just have a few questions in mind, I hope you'd have time to answer them:
1. Where's your dad? I don't know if you've mentioned him in your previous blog posts but I haven't noticed you do it.
2. Are you and JC Intal exclusively dating?
3. When is the next PBB season going to start and for what age bracket?
4. What advice could you give to students like me who are confused as to whether they should stick to their course or shift and whether they should stay at their current university or transfer to another primarily because their parents want them to?
4. What's it like being an Atenean?
Thanks a lot :)
x
I also love manang's! :)
Wow! Sarap nyan. Naalala ko tuloy yung mga nagtitinda ng pork barbecue sa likod ng LCC-Bacolod... talagang binabalik-balikan kasi masarap!
Hi Bianca! I see a connection between this post and the previous one re y speak. It reminds me that when we need to say goodbye to something special (show), a part of us wants to go back (subconsciously) to a place (school) or a person (professor) who helped us get to where we are right now. It's our way of saying thank you. :)
OHMYGOODNESS.. Ateneo.<3 My DREAM SCHOOL!:)<3 ..Well, you've certainly been a good example of what an Atenean should be-- A man for others. Oh, sorry, a SUPERGIRL for others.<3:)
I love you beautiful Bianca!:)
