my prom dream come true!!!! ♥
i never went to any prom. not when i was a junior, not when i was a senior, not at any other schools' prom. i had issues with my then-boyfriend that caused me to miss this major event in a high school kids' life.
i never went to any prom..
til i was 26 years old.. :))))
vince is the program director for football at feu-fern, and because he was invited as faculty, he asked me to be his date. it was such a dream come true!!!! so much so that i immediately called one of my favorite designers,
joey samson, to rush a gown for me, and one of my favorite make up artists,
steven doloso, to do my make up for me, and my hair stylist for a decade now,
alex carbonell, to do my hair. hahaha, CAREER! well, its a dream come true right? so why not a dream team to help fix me up too? i think it was all worth it because when vince saw me all dolled up, all he was able to say was, "WOW." aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw.. that moment made all the preparations worth it. :) and of course i will say that vince looked amazing in his randy ortiz suit. :)
of course, we had the obligatory "full body prom photo before leaving the house". :p
i can't believe the invitation had our names on it! i was sooo kilig. i felt so high school all over again. as in i actually felt a little nervous that moment before stepping out of the car and that moment before stepping into the venue!
vince had six scholars for football who attended that prom, all from out of manila, and so we all helped put together outfits for the boys. vince sponsored their white polos, they all got their suits and ties from a rental, and i'm sooo thankful to
converse for sponsoring their super cool leather high cut chuck taylors!! they looked so cool decked out in suits but casual in chucks!!
i actually also felt half feeling, and half left out, kasi hindi na pala uso ang full long gown to proms nowadays?! hahaha! 95% of the girls were in cocktail dresses! i stuck out like a sore thumb in my black ball gown, but then i felt like a princess. so that was okay. hahaha.
being around a decade older than these high school kids, of course there was no chance we could win "prom king and queen".. hahaha. (asa pa! but honestly, yes umasa ako ng slight! :p hahaha!) but the next best thing happened, because although we couldn't win it, we did give out the award for "prom king and queen"!!!! that isn't us slow dancing in the photo, but then during the second slow song, vince asked me to dance my first slow dance everrrrrr.... :)))) (sorry cheesyyyy!)
more than just us enjoying, we had so much fun watching the boys have fun. they're all from different provinces in the country, and this was their first "glamorous" event ever, and it was awesome seeing them enjoying themselves! it was especially awesome to see one of the most shy boys, nash, ask this cute girl he likes, to slow dance with him. aaaaaaaaaaaw....
thank you for sharing my first ever prom experience with me!!!! :p cheers to many more firsts! despite being years late, it really is never too late to have a "first". :)
