hong kong top ten!

every trip has its unique moments and highlights! no one trip is alike! for this particular, very random, last minute hong kong getaway, allow me to share with you my personal top ten!

#10.. adopted by the uy siblings!

meet vince, laureen, and liz! the three fabulous uy siblings. we all planned this just days before the actual trip, and it was so much fun being an adopted uy for the weekend! vince is the creative director of preview magazine, laureen is a fashion blogger, designer, and soon-to-be actress, and liz is of course one of the top fashion stylists in the country, and like a sister to me. :)

#9.. lan kwai fong!

we love staying at lan kwai fong! for starters, if your goal in hong kong is shopping and to go out at night, lfk is the place to be! its such a short walking distance from night spots dragon eye and volar, favorite pig out places ebeneezer's kebab and yung kee, plus its so near all the shopping places in central!

#8.. h&m and joyce!

speaking of central, a trip to central won't be complete without raiding the huge h&m store! i love all the basics you can find at h&m, so useable for work and as a person! is it really true that h&m is coming to manila? i'm not sure how i feel about that! i'm happy that it'll be accessible, but sad that there's less to look forward to when shopping for unique finds abroad!

and of course, the glorious window display of joyce really lures you in! shooooooooooes!!!! sadly, there was no sale whatsoever and everything was so expensive! we couldn't afford anything! haha! we did try on those we like and imagined walking in it in manila, and for now, that was enough. :p

#7.. tree!

at the outlets in ap lei chau, we discovered this super cool furniture shop with a coffee shop inside called tree! so beautiful! it was so nice to go around and see all the pieces and imagine and dream about what my future home would look like! everything was wood, and white, with a hint of stone and metal.. which is exactly how i envision my future home to be! its free to dream! :)

saw this mug in the coffee shop. very powerful words! i love it.

#6.. duck, duck, goose!

no hong kong trip is complete without eating as much duck and goose as you can!!!! peking garden and yung kee were our go-to places to eat! i loooove duck.

#5.. pocky!

i really love pocky! one of my most favorite snacks along with hello panda and yanyan! i once found pocky dark chocolate in tokyo and i went crazy! never saw it again anywhere else.

#4.. darlie!

liz introduced me to this super awesome toothpaste brand, darlie! i absolutely love it! thank you for the wonderful gift!

#3.. toxin foot patches!

hahaha.. i'm a sucker for these toxin foot patches! they're those patches you stick on your feet before sleeping, then when you wake up and remove them, they're all brown and icky supposedly removing the toxins from your body?! not sure if its scientifically proven, but whether its just in my head or not, i feel it does work and i do feel better! :p

#2.. flight home, take two.

mond, laureen, and i checked in for our flight back to manila bright and early at the city check in. enjoyed breakfast and had more than a few good laughs. to cut a long story short, when we got to our boarding gate, our view was this picture on the left. nakakaloka. empty. not a single person. the boarding gate sign read "beijing", a totally different flight. thankfully, the next flight out was not that full, and so we were able to rebook to join that one. we made sure we were at the gate waaaay before boarding time! and our view was this photo on the right. :)

while waiting for our flight, we couldn't help but think.. "we're responsible naman guys, ah?" and "pinalaki naman tayo ng maayos ng magulang natin, we're always on time and we hate being late, how could this happen to us?" hahaha! lesson learned!

#1.. pulled over by the police.

the highlight of all highlights of our trip! liz, mond, and i hailed a cab to get from kowloon to ifc mall. it was sort of rush hour then and hard to get a cab, and so the first empty cab we saw, despite the fact that it haphazardly swerved to pick us up, we got into. what a maniacal cab driver! changed lanes carelessly, and at one point, cut through three lanes to make a left turn! that's when the police pulled us over. we were sitting in the cab wondering what to do, the policemen were questioning the cab driver, who didn't seem drunk at all, just young and careless! the policemen asked for our names and contact numbers, and we asked if we could go out and just hail another cab. we were on our way out when the cab driver started pounding the hood of the car with his fist!!!! scaaaary! definitely one for the books.

hong kong is always a blast! and its the company and itinerary that makes each trip a success. thank you to the uy siblings for adopting me and mond! it was so, so, so much fun! and to top it all off, the weather was awesome!

thank you to laureen for some of the photos on this blogpost! :) she also took this beautiful photo of my reminder bracelets.. whenever i wear them, i'm reminded to do just that.. dream, love, and travel. ♥

and on a final note! most of you who have been reading my blog for some time now are probably looking for my travel tumbling shot for this trip. i've had so many tumbling shots in hong kong already, and so i will share with you instead my latest tumbling shot! not from any trip, just from here in manila!

i present to you.. my tumbling shot on the skyway!!!! :p

I like reading your blog :) so fresh and honest. But the tumbling shot scared me! I think it's because I'm a mom. I don't want to be a party pooper but please be more careful. I know it was midnight and no cars on the road but it is also the time when everyone is driving more crazy than usual. Yun Lang :)

I always admire showbiz personalities who have a complete package in them most especially being active outside the world of acting you inspire people not just by being visible and having a great talent but by being compassionate enough to display the true essence of a human being. More power to your blog.

Those toxin patches seem really interesting! Will try to find those :)

hi bianca, i don't think it's a good example that you post a picture of you tumbling on the skyway. isn't it hazardous to stop on the skyway even at that time of the day? if not for you then for other motorists.

anyway, i love your bracelets. take care and more power to your career.

hi miss bianca! its been awhile that hadnt got a time to read ur recent blogs.. pag down ang feeling ko or going through some heartache hinahanap ko lagi entries mo to uplift it.. i love to travel too.. if ever i would be given a job where i could travel for free i will leave whatever job im in now.. your blog inspires me alot.., to be good, to do good. 8 months ago ive been in a secret relationship with a guy whos already committed.. sobrang blured lng saken lahat ng nasa paligid ko except syempre sakanya.. all i see is him. sinet aside lahat ng values na naituro ng pinagmulan kong catholic school.. for 8 mos ive been like that. Pero in between those months i knew it has to end.. pero sobrang hirap. there are times na bumabalik pdn ako. hindi ko kaya. and just about a month ago.. thats when ive decided to finally let go.. after hearing advices from my close friends and reading blogs like yours.. i came to a realization of being "me" again.. i want to see those sun rays shines at me again.. gusto ko na ule maging mabuting tao.

keep on inspiring us girls ms bianca.. thank you. :)
