i wish i could fly business class all the time.

some people indulge in shoes. some indulge in bags. some in watches, some in cars, some in jewelry. i save money so i can travel. :)

i can't pride myself in saying i'm a budget traveler because i'm not. i'm not one to scout for deals and promos or winner cheap finds. i'm just a regular traveler who saves money enough for a trip, goes on the trip, comes back with a wealth of experience, then saves money for the next trip, and so on.

i recently went on a trip to europe, and because the trip was extremely short (short meaning five days including travel! ack!) and i had to go straight to work after arriving, i decided to treat myself to an upgrade going home. i really usually fly coach. its expensive enough! but also thanks to some pulled strings, i was so lucky to be able to fly business class going home, on a ten hour flight. yaaaay!

i always fly philippine airlines but since they don't fly to europe, i flew singapore airlines. they pride themselves in having the largest business class seat in existence today. and guess what, they have first class, and they even have suites! wow! i cannot imagine the luxury of flying first class. or in a suite! and who the heck can afford to fly 5000USD?! aah, the life of they-who-are wealthy. sweet.

welcome to my awesome seat! i was bursting with fruit flavor upon seeing the seat! wow! what is this, a lazy boy cubicle?!

i literally kicked off my heels and immediately put on these towel-material booties. so comfy and warm and fuzzy!

the towel booties had a matching eye shade and boy was i getting ready for a good night's sleep! this my friends is the face of an exhausted but happy-to-be-comfortable traveler. :)

i couldn't believe the size of the seat so i just had to get up again to take a photo of how wide the seat was! amazing! it'll fit two of me!

and check out the leg room. or should i say leg roooooooooom! from this alone, i actually got too excited about sleeping comfortably that i didn't feel sleepy at all!

on my left, there was the usual entertainment console with the controls for tv, lights, seats.. looks the same as the regular coach seat. but wait, there's more!

right in front of me, on the left of the tv screen, there were two compartments. one was a mirror with led lights (for those who want to retouch i guess?!) and the other was a mini platform for drinks! coffee anyone?

to the right of the screen were another two compartments. the top for placing small items like phones or cameras, and the bottom was a whole console for gadgets to plug, usb sticks, computer cables. wow! pang-businessman talaga!

then there was the twenty-plus inch tv screen with a whole lot of selections to watch! i finally, and happily, got to watch two major films that i missed seeing in cinemas. first was "limitless". absolutely loved it! gimme some of that nzt! the other was "love actually". what a beautifully written film! i was crying my eyes out as in bawling at the end! (medyo nakakahiya. haha!)

i am not fond of airplane food but this was quite good! there were little snacks available at any time i wanted, my main meal included a nice vinaigrette dressing salad, a thick slab of steak with grilled vegetables, and coffee ice cream for dessert! not to be forgotten are the glasses of red wine that acts as my sleep aid when on a plane.

and we come to the last, and best part. you know that already-unbelievably-super-wide-chair? pull it down and fold it out and it turns into a bed! an actual bed with pillows and blankets where you can stretch out your legs and lie down comfortably! whaaaat?! yes its true! the best sleep i've had on a plane. ever.

superficial as this post may seem, i just wanted to share my awesomely blessed experience flying comfortably. this actually motivates me to work harder, so that as i grow older and travel the world more, i can save up enough to experience more of this. :) as some say, its not just the destination, its the journey as well!

Comfy and cozy in there! Like a bug snug in a rug! With a long flight like that it's best to save up for some comfy seat up in the air!

hi miss bianca..i luv reading your blog..you're such a very interesting person..i want to know more about you..what i have in my mind is you have lots of money!hehehehe

WOW!!! as in WOW! talaga.. me, personally dont like plane, i mean inside the plane. i always take economy since i'm one of those regular pips who cant afford expensive flights. for me it's so hassle inside the economy class. if it happens you sitting either in the window or in the middle it's so hard if you want to go to washroom especially if your seatmates are sleeping so you feel shy making isturbo with them because you want to stand and ask them if pwede dumaan sa harap nila argh! hate it..

Panalo to.. sana maexperience ko rin to..

i beg to disagree with regards to Emirates business class being better than Singapore...unless its A380 its better but the others no...SG is better and way to bigger and the service you cannot compare...

Wow! Business Class! That's super duper extra cool! I'm a Tourism student. I flied through air just once. Of course, that's economy. I'm still a student and that experience is just wonderful to me. I would love to try the business class when I get older and I have a job. You really inspire me, Ms. Bianca. I hope I can meet you and talk to you. That would be sooooooooo awesome! <33333333

Your blog on travel is very interesting! You just took out the words right out of my mouth on how I also save just to travel. Hmmm.. just realized that. I'm not too biggy on material stuff either. I love learning array of different cultures, and I do that through travel. Keep it up and see you in your future journeys. Who knows we'll bump into each other in one of your travels.

The very purpose of a blog, in my opinion, is to make the readers feel and experience the author's feelings and experiences as well. This post fits well to the purpose. Great job Bianca. I am now a follower. ^^
