give love!

why don't you give love not only on christmas day, but instead, everyday?!

maybe it comes with the cold air, i don't know, but don't you find that people are generally nicer, more positive, and more generous during christmas time?

for whatever reason, okay na din na mas masasaya ang mga tao pag papalapit na ang december! we looove making those we love happy during christmas time, and i know a lot of people who want to make our less fortunate brothers and sisters happy as well, but just do not know how to go about it.

on charity work, let me tell you this: you don't have to be rich to help others. oo, talagang mas madaling makatulong kapag maraming biyaya sa buhay.. pero kung hindi ka "mayaman" o "maimpluwensiya" o "makapangyarihan", di naman ibig sabihin nun na hindi ka na maaaring makatulong.

a lot of people have asked me on this blog how difficult, or how easy, it is to plan any form of helping others, and really, it is easy. here are a few suggestions if you'd like.

5. volunteer! busy talaga kapag pasko ang mga grupo tulad ng gawad kalinga dahil marami ang gusto mag-volunteer para makatulong. mabuti yun! everything is on the internet now, so if there is a group you would like to help, madali lang hanapin yun sa yahoo or sa google. kung nahihiya kayo, mag-imbita kayo ng kaibigan para samahan kayo. that way, you also have someone to share your experience with.

and the list can go on and on!

diba graaabe ang sayang naibibigay kapag nakapagpasaya ka ng ibang tao? yung talagang kita mo yung kislap sa mata nila at kita mo ang laki ng ngiti nila? wala talaga sa laki ng halagang binigay ang halaga ng pagbigay sa kapwa. giving love is all about just that, the love that we give. whether limang piso yan o isang libong piso, kapag galing sa puso at talagang intensyon mo na magpasaya at makapag-inspire sa kapwa, yun talaga ang mahalaga.

happy love-giving this christmas!

advance merry christmas ate bianca! God bless you!
astig po talaga kayo, kahit busy kayo these days, nagagawa nio parin pong magpost sa blog nio at mag inspire ng tao. thank you so much!

Thanks, Ms. Bianca for all the tips.

Lahat tayo pwedeng magcontribute in making this season a bit jubilant para sa mga iba nating kababayan. Share our blessings.

Thanks again, Ms. Bianca. Inspiration po kayo.

'Pay it forward', yes!

I'm not really a member of any group pero I also want to help others in my own little way... share my things and give what i don't need.

Hi Ma'am,

I totally agree that seeing the smiles in the little kids eyes when you help them one way or another is priceless. There's just not a thing that compares with that feeling.

On the company I work for, in Cebu, we have this "Outreach Program" every December. What we do is invite kids, 4 - 12 yrs old, I think and organize a party for them. This year is our 3rd year and am pretty excited.

Question though, what about the saying "teach a man how to fish and you'll feed him for life".

I understand these are just kids but when we feed them we might be implying that they can just get free food every christmas. I know it's quite hard but just asking for some insights as I myself can't answer.

Merry Christmas

Hi Biancs!

just wanna share another organization too wherein you could help kids from different provincial areas be sent to school. i'm talking about world vision. by only p15/a day or p450/ a month, you could already send a child to school and world vision would send you a profile of your beneficiary plus the report card. astig di ba?! it really feels good reaching out to others.=)

Hi Bianca! I'm Cha Carag from the UP College of Medicine. =) My sorority in the college, Phi Lambda Delta, will be hosting a gift giving/variety show charity event for the PGH patients and bantays this December 13, 2007, 7PM at the PGH Atrium. So far, the artists who were gracious enough to accept our invitation to perform are Ogie Alcacid, Aiai delas Alas and Matt Evans. I was wondering if you could participate in our event, maybe by hosting one of our games for the patients? It would really be a big help! Thanks so much, hope to hear from you soon. =) If you have any inquiries, don't hesitate to contact me, my email address is chacarag85@yahoo.com. Again, thanks so much!

I have been firm with my stand not to give barya to streetchildren. I have always believed that by doing so, it's just teaching them to be tamad and to be dependent on other people.

I've had my fair share of rejections from children on the streets who would rather receive money than food and I feel bad for them. So if they don't want it, there are other children just here inside BF who would be very grateful for that kind of help.

hi! merry xmas! what a post u made to make us think again.. we really have to do these things, not only this season, but as you said everyday... we can make in our own little ways to help others. let me share with you this message that is very timely with your post, i got this from a friend, "when God increases our blessings, it is not meant to be a reward. it's a call to do greater things as worthy tenants of His vineyard. Don't simply thank God that you have much while others have little. Thank Him because He has chosen to bless you and in return to be a bleesing to someone..." tama di ba? let's be a blessing to everyone and thank you bianca for being a blessing to us. keep the faith. take care!

Bianca Gonzalez takes time to see the world
By Nathalie M. Tomada
Monday, December 10, 2007
Bianca Gonzalez is one bundle of wanderlust—this I accidentally found out in her weekly-updated personal blog that details her latest overseas and local travels. And they’re quite many actually that one can’t help but think: how does she make room for such adventures with her packed schedule? Surely, you’ve noticed her seemingly ubiquitous presence on tv.

It helps that the 24-year-old host of “Pinoy Big Brother,” “Entertainment Live,” and “Y-Speak” is also articulate in the written word. Couple that with a promising eye, despite being untaught, for photography… and you have ruminations, captions, and snaps that reveal a cerebral being with a funny bone. Bianca’s travels come in variety: from Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, United States to Hong Kong, with family, old and newfound friends or even by her solo self.

Her blog is one enjoyable read, but sorry to disappoint fans who are looking for juicy tidbits about the state of her love life or any “kadiri-ang-showbiz”-like ranting and raving, because there are none.

Breezy, light and open but to an understandable limit, this is how Bianca really is when yours truly met her recently, thanks to the kind invitation of National Youth Commission’s ever-on-the-go commissioner at large Mike Lopez, to a lunch get-together at the elegant Pino Restaurant in Lahug.

“I did not expect on ending up on tv but I really wanted to be a writer or director before,” this communication arts grad with a minor in philosophy from Ateneo de Manila University tells us.

With her easily likeable and simple mien (she had nary a hint of make-up, except for very little eye mascara), Bianca—it wasn’t hard to decide later on—is the last celebrity you’d perhaps call unapproachable. Bianca wonders why people pigeonhole her as “maarte” or “sosyal,” when she doesn’t look, act or speak like one. Unlike many artistas her age, she is not bedecked in luxury items. If there’s anything high-priced that she carries around, it would be her Canon 400D camera.

She admits to seriously scrimping and saving to finance her travels, because, except for the economy airplane ticket, she tries to make the most of her trips in style. This in the sense that she doesn’t want to miss out on the good restaurants and all the sights that her chosen destination has to offer.

Among the places she has been to, the country that sprung the most surprises on her was Vietnam.

Still and all, her ultimate dream destination is Tokyo, Japan. She says she has been dreaming for so long of going to Japan which, as a kid, she envisioned as a place where flying cars exist (she kids not!). She has since grown fascinated with Japanese food, pop culture, and cinema. Meantime, she is working hard to save up for a major European escapade which she hopes will materialize next year.

Her advice to young people who’d finally like to see the world? Travel with a trusted buddy who’s willing and daring enough to enjoy your adventures. If possible, don’t go for guided tours; travel at your own time and pace. To save on accommodations, live with a friend. Lastly, be open to surprises.

Check out her travels and photos at superbianca.blogspot.com.
