you share inspiration!

if someone inspires you, you go and share and inspire others as well.

i've been feeling a bit lost because of some recent turn of events in my life. have you ever had a point in your life where you ask yourself, "do i go this way, or that way?" or "what should i do? what will i choose?" i think we all have had that point at one, at a couple, or many times in our lives. i've been feeling that, and i was waiting for something to jump at me to speak to me to inspire me.

today i woke up and this is the first headline i saw..

steve jobs resigns as ceo of apple. i'm a mac user and i've always been in awe of how they innovate and revolutionize, and it came as a shock that at the young (yes, young) age of 56, with a net worth of over 8 billion US dollars, steve jobs decides to retire as chief executive officer of apple, and instead serve as chairman of the board, director, and apple employee.

in his resignation letter, he simply stated..

"i have always said that if there ever came a day when i could no longer meet my duties and expectations as apple's ceo, i would be the first to let you know. unfortunately, that day has come."

in itself such a noble act that is hardly seen today, his admitting his capabilities and limitations makes him so much more inspiring. tao lang din talaga si steve jobs.

still in my search of that "inspiration", this headline prompted me to watch once again his 2005 stanford commencement address.

"you can't connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards. you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. you have to trust in something. gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever."

"sometimes life's gonna hit you in the head with a brick. don't lose faith."

"i am convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that i loved what i did. you've got to find what you love. and that is as true for work, as it is for your lovers."

"as with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it."

"remembering that i'll be dead soon is the most important tool i've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important."

so many people and events (both good and bad) in his life pushed him further and inspired him. and he shared that inspiration to others. and he shares that inspiration every single day someone uses anything he invented.

be inspired and share the inspiration to others!

dearest mr. steve jobs, the world can't thank you enough for the inspiration.

Thanks for sharing the inspiration! :) I have been a fan of Steve Jobs ever since. It's sad to see him choose to be in the background, but c'est la vie. He will always be an inspiration to us all.

there really comes a point in our lives when we feel that we are directionless.. because that's what i'm feeling now.. watched the vid. so inspiring.. with everything he did, he still thinks it's not enough..an thought of a successful but discontented person..hmm, i guess that's what makes him effective and successful..

Steve Jobs's health is failing and he really needs to rest. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a few years back but the tumor was removed. Apparently there was a recurrence.

Steve Jobs is a true visionary. One could say he is a modern King Midas. Anything he touches turns to gold. Besides Apple, he is also the person behind the meteoric success of Pixar.

As for your mentioned "turn of events in life," we all get the blues one time or another. I'm sure you'll get over it in your typical persistent (or less politely---obstinate) ways. In the meantime, just hang on.

By the way, did you notice that Steve Jobs never said anything about God in his speech?

Take care!

This is surreal.

I am in my mid-life crisis now. Also on the verge of decision-making which is soo fragile at this point.

And thank God for your post. Seriously. This has totally gave light to where I am now.

I am just overwhelmed. Believe me. Every word in your post rings a bell. As in.

Hi Bianca!!! I also love and has been so inspired by Steve Jobs, especially after I watched and read his Commencement Speech at Stanford University.

His words "find what you love... and don't settle" helped me find my way to my dream job.

I have also written a post before about this very inspiring man.. :)

I just discovered your blog recently. Like you, i want to travel but as of the moment is hindered by time and financial constraint. I, too, would like to make a difference to the world or maybe to a person, however small those changes maybe.

Thank you, SuperBianca! Thank you for making me believe that i can travel (in God's time! haha.) and that however small the difference i can make, it would matter.

You are definitely SUPER, bianca! I wish i could meet you one day! :)

P.S. Lady Antebellum's I WAS HERE suits you well!! :D

I totally agree with you Bianca regarding that feeling where as if you're waiting for something to "click" in your mind and perhaps do something about it, be inspired and ofcourse be happy.

I have to tell you though that you are one of my inspirations. You are so down to earth and I can feel that you are really writing what you're feeling from the heart.

I want to thank you for "Sharing."

Archie

Hi Bianca! I have been feeling a little lost career-wise myself. It's encouraging to know that it's normal. I've long looked up to you and I had a few questions in mind that I hope you would take the time to answer:
1. You mentioned before that you're passionate about film. Has it always been your first love and have you always known this?
2. How do you personally decide which road to take? How big a factor is financial security in your career choices?
3. Is your current career somewhat of a conscious choice that you made or was it something that just landed on your lap and you just went along for the ride and learned to love it along the way?
4. Have you ever thought about living/studying in another country simply for the exciting new experiences it can offer?
5. Who are your current inspiration?

There's a lot more I could ask but I shall refrain for now:-) I do hope to hear from you and whatever decisions you make in your life, I hope you're happy and fulfilled.

Love,
Kristine

My favourite superbianca blog post--
Title: "you share inspiration!" Posted: (just recently) 25 August 2011
Why: This post made me so inspired to put my heart in whatever I love to, excel more and to keep my faith despite adversities.
Being in the IT profession, I'm mostly updated with many technological advances happening every day but it was through and when I've read your blog that I've learned Jobs had resigned from Apple. Like you, I'm a fan of Apple and I'm inspired by Steve Jobs since my college years to excel and to innovate things. So I was saddened with his sudden announcement. Jobs' resignation shook the world. I thought it was just a blunder at first but it was real, a breaking news far more important than the hurricane in East Coast and the falling empire of Ghadafi in Libya.
And yes, I couldn't agree more with you: "in itself such a noble act that is hardly seen today, his admitting his capabilities and limitations makes him so much more inspiring. tao lang din talaga si steve jobs." Of course, we are humans who are less capable, but it's the power of our thoughts and faith that makes us feel we can do and surprass everything.
Alongside this, I can relate to one of the quotes you've shared: "sometimes life's gonna hit you in the head with a brick. don't lose faith." for I believe in it myself.
Sometimes I'm attacked by "silly" depression states. Every time this happens, I keep reminding myself in this process that faith [in God] includes faith in His timing. I must remain hopeful and faithful. I must fill myself with the belief that something good will come out of all things and event I encounter. Because if I don't, what else is there?
In one point in time, I have learned that we should also thank God in times of sadness. Personally I think that it's during these times when I can contemplate and hear that there's some sort of music in my head even if it's just plain silence, feel like I'm dancing even if I'm just lying down, and absorb all these nonsense which are absolutely beautiful.

Sometimes faith feels full and other times, it is only a pencil dot on the paper, but we struggle through and hold tight to our threads. I'll end with a relevant quotation: "Feed your faith and your fears will starve to death."
Item I'd like to win:
Choice A: the major beauty package from l'oreal philippines for my beloved mother
Why: She's a survivor who grew up witnessing hardships and experienced a deprived life. She's a paragon of moving mountains and getting real actions done. She's an accountant, always budgets everything for the household. She always thinks of her family only and provides for us that she forgets that she also needs to be given gifts herself. When I graduated from college and started earning money of my own, I assured myself that I'd wholeheartedly give in to whatever she'd ask for. Because this is the least I can do.
Choice B: two pairs of chuck taylors for my sister, the twin I never had
Why: Because we cannot afford to buy so much shoes and the fact that my mom, sister and I all have the same foot size, we share only one pair of rubber shoes. Whenever we're at the malls or shoes stores, my sister and I would ask each other which of the chuck taylor colours or designs we'd like to have--but we'll not buy them. The answer is just for our happy wishful thinking, safely deposited into our subconscious wish list, until now. For everything she has contributed to our family, I also can't thank her enough. Now I feel this is a good chance for her to win the prize.
Thank you for opening this window of opportunity and also for being one of my inspirations all this time. :)

we both share the same fondness for mr jobs. when i found that he stepped down as apple's CEO, i felt sad because he's such a brilliant guy. hearing for the first time his Standford speech left me in complete awe and admiration for him. it has been a struggling year for me at work but his words inspired me to move forward. connecting the dots. it makes sense. i am privileged to have experienced the brilliance of mr jobs.

Hello Bianca!

We shared the same feeling, I am an avid fan of Steve Jobs also and so sad because he is no longer Apple's CEO. He is a legendary co-founder of Apple and all Apple's fantastic products are his brilliant invention. Maybe he needed enough rest for his illness. But so devastated because he could no longer oversee the progress of Apple in the years to come. I posted three blog posts about Steve Jobs in my Global Affairs blog.

Hats-off to Steve Jobs. He maybe really the best CEO in the world. Unfortunately, their standards for "cheap" prices aren't exactly my definition of cheap.

Don't get me wrong, I love their products, they really make dumb people dumber. :)) I wish in the future i could have my own Mac, or any iDevices too.

But if their's one thing to hate about Apple, it's their "patenting" hobby. It's a hindrance to innovation. Apple is an unethical patent troll.
