amaaazing grace!

just like the ups and downs of our personal life, our spiritual life also has its ups and downs. may time na malapit tayo sa DiYoS, may time din na nakakalimot tayo. i was in a spiritual high when i took lss and search-in back in high school, then i backslid amidst all the things on my to-do list during college, then i grew much closer to the LoRd when i met certain people in my life after college, until now!

after 24 years of MAJOR ups and downs in life, i've learned that one of the best, if not the best thing that can help comfort you? the bible! as in!! i've read the bible crying, laughing, hurt, angry, happy, fulfilled, lahat!! and really, what a difference HiS word makes.

meet my backpack bible, yet to be named (my most precious items are named, so pepel, think of a name na for this!), and just like a school notebook, i have doodles of all kinds on it. :p try it!!

allow me to share with you a few of the most powerful passages, that were shared with me those times that i needed comforting most. in case it might help you out or lift you up in any way. :)

"therefore i tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. and when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your FaTheR in heaven may forgive you your sins."
mark 11: 24-25, shared by spiritual guru connie reyes.

"therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed."
hebrews 12: 12-13, shared by my wise-woman, tita sandy.

"'for i know the plans i have for you,' declares the LoRd. 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"
jeremiah 29: 12, shared by my darling friend toni.

"look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly FaTheR feeds them. are you not much more valuable than they? who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"
matthew 6: 26-27, shared by my guiding light, pastor doy.

"i can do everything through HiM who gives me strength."
philippians 4: 13, shared by me to you.

hello! ive been waiting for your post since last night pa.. hinde ako nabigo nabasa ko rin sya this morning... all you have said are all true.. sometimes, we felt na we're so close to Him.. and sometimes... as if He doesn't exist... all through out my life for almost 24 years now (yes.. my birthyear is also 1983) i have trusted my life to Him. i never doubted His plans, pero dahil makulit ako, i ask Him sometimes bakit ganto.. bakit ganon.. pero at the end of my prayer.. i always tell Him, "Your will be done". several times na kong sumemplang, but i stood up, with His strength
i am surviving everyday, and still findng my purpose, why am i here... thanks ulit for your wonderful post.. keep the faith! good day!

Hi Bianca! :) Your post is very timely (is that the word I should use) because before reading your blog, someone forwarded me this message...and it's sooo very true.

Ang cellphone ay ayaw magasgasan;

With your post and with the forwarded message I received, tinamaan talaga ako.Kaya kukunin ko ung Student's Bible ko ule...lagi ko ng dadalhin!

nyikes napahaba comments ko...lam mo when i read your blog, feel ko close tayo hehe nakikita ko kasi sarili ko sau (in some aspects)...i love your blog actually kasi it's so natural and true. hehe :) keep it up bianx!!!

Hi BiaNca, I am one of your thousands-of-never-met friends. I say this so because we are not only a fan of you, but also a faithful n loyal friend who have always believed n trusted you, your abilities, talents, advocacies & personality for that matter. It is my first time to post a comment, though I have always attempted to. I just want to share something to you. Don’t dwell too much on what “other” people think or say about you, God did not have you here is this world to please them, what matter is you cleanly living to serve your purpose to Him & to the Humanity, u made the most of what you have, u are happy, u committed mistakes but learned from it. Live through it all, despite all the gossips and intrigues, in the end you will make it. Live a life fearless of other people’s shadows and standards. I know u know all these things, u are a brilliant woman. Whatever help you are extending now to everyone, keep it up, we your “family” are very proud of you and are always praying for you. Let me share this to you: God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. (BIBLE, 1 Corinthians 10:13)

Sadly, it can be easy to manipulate the bible to achieve certain ends, just like the media. Just my two cents.

Not that I'd like to disagree, but you forgot the classic Psalm 23:4. :P

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Death,
I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

... as recited by Nightcrawler in X-Men 2.

I have a friend who keeps on pushing me to join him to attend mass every Sunday but for no reason at all i always sublate to his offer, di nya ako tinitigilan kya Khapon i decided to finally attend the mass after months of not doing it. I felt different upon hearing the homily and during the communion i was teary eyed because of the song "lead me Lord" sobrang n guilty ako sa mga pagkukulng ko sa Kanya. i was so self centered pla, He always gives me blessing pero alm kong kulng lng ang salitang thank you.. hi bianca,

i wandered into your blog site and was happily surprised to see a mix of carefree youth as well as a depth of interest and feeling. like the fact that you worry about your "barya" scars and cleaning the mess you call your room, while at the same time being into sodenbergh, suffering for a cause (as in the stone story), actor's studio, the lot, filmmaking and sodenbergh. and, yes, the spiritual literature of life -- the bible.

i run a small business over at the Loop -- it's a vegetarian quick service deli place. i do some writing on the side. cinemanila has contests you might wanna join.

Ja here, got this from my email, jz want to share it to u

How much does a miracle cost?

A little girl went to her bedroom and pulled a glass jelly jar from its hiding place in the closet.

She poured the change out on the floor and counted it carefully. Three times, even. The total had to be exactly perfect. No chance here for mistakes.

Carefully placing the coins back in the jar and twisting on the cap, she slipped out the back door and made her way 6 blocks to Rexall's Drug Store with the big red Indian Chief sign above the door.

She waited patiently for the pharmacist to give her some attention, but he was too busy at this moment. Tess twisted her feet to make a scuffing noise. Nothing. She cleared her throat with the most disgusting sound she could muster. No good. Finally she took a quarter from her jar and banged it on the glass counter. That did it!

"And what do you want?" the pharmacist asked in an annoyed tone of voice. I'm talking to my brother from Chicago whom I haven't seen in ages," he said without waiting for a reply to his question.

"Well, I want to talk to you about my brother," Tess answered back in the same annoyed tone. "He's really, really sick...and I want to buy a miracle."

"I beg your pardon?" said the pharmacist.

"His name is Andrew and he has something bad growing inside his head and my Daddy says only a miracle can save him now. So how much does a miracle cost?"

"We don't sell miracles here, little girl. I'm sorry but I can't help you," the pharmacist said, softening a little.

"Listen, I have the money to pay for it. If it isn't enough, I will get the rest. Just tell me how much it costs."

The pharmacist's brother was a well dressed man. He stooped down and asked the little girl, "What kind of a miracle does your brother need?"

" I don't know," Tess replied with her eyes welling up. I just know he's really sick and Mommy says he needs an operation. But my Daddy can't pay for it, so I want to use my money."

"How much do you have?" asked the man from Chicago .

"One dollar and eleven cents," Tess answered barely audibly.

"And it's all the money I have, but I can get some more if I need to."

"Well, what a coincidence," smiled the man. "A dollar and eleven cents---the exact price of a miracle for little brothers. "

He took her money in one hand and with the other hand he grasped her mitten and said "Take me to where you live. I want to see your brother and meet your parents. Let's see if I have the miracle you need."

That well dressed man was Dr. Carlton Armstrong, a surgeon, specializing in neuro-surgery. The operation was completed free of charge and it wasn't long until Andrew was home again and doing well.

Mom and Dad were happily talking about the chain of events that had led them to this place.

"That surgery," her Mom whispered. "was a real miracle. I wonder how much it would have cost?"

Tess smiled. She knew exactly how much a miracle cost...one dollar and eleven cents....plus the faith of a little child.

In our lives, we never know how many miracles we will need.

A miracle is not the suspension of natural law, but the operation of a higher law.

MY OATH TO YOU...

When you are sad.....I will dry your tears.

When you are scared.....I will comfort your fears.

When you are worried.....I will give you hope.

When you are confused.....I will help you cope.

And when you are lost....And can't see the light, I shall be your beacon.....Shining ever so bright.

This is my oath.....I pledge till the end.

Why you may ask?.....Because you're my friend.

Signed: GOD

See, Friend ka Nya, friend Nya tayong lahat, kaya i know He will never ever take u for granted. He is good, He will always b there for u...

I have so many favorite verses in the bible, but the most memorable one is Psalm 23 by David.

'Psalm 23'
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still
waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's
sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no
evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest
my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will
dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

This was the last song/prayer that my Mom and I shared, the day before her death.

That very night i decided to get our bible and opened it to whatever page my hands lead me. i can't remember the verse i read pero naiyak talaga ako while reading the lines coz amazing na every word eh parang sagot sa questions ko that time...

after reading the verses, i definitely agree that BIBLE is so powerful. i dont know but that very night MY LOWEST point was also my HIGHEST POINT coz i felt God's presence... HE was like talking to me...

here's another one:

"Trust the Lord completely; don't ever trust yourself. In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success” Proverbs 3:5-6 (TLB).

We all face tough times that challenge everything we believe. And we often have the hardest time seeing God's hand when we're in difficult situations - because we just don't understand what He is doing. But the exhilarating thing is that God uses tough times to show us His favor and blessing. It may not feel comfortable at first, but seek God's face all the more when you're struggling. When you ask Him, He will give you everything you could possibly ever need to make it through the trying times. And He will give you special eyes to see Him through all of your hardships. Your human understanding will fall short, so just give God full control and watch the blessings flow.

"FOR I DESIRE MERCY NOT SACRIFICE, AND THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD MORE THAN BURNT OF OFFERINGS."

-HOSEA 6:6

no amount of activity for GOD will ever take the place of a heart that is right with HIM. through the ages of GOD's people have been persuaded that they could please HIM through their service and their offerings, regardless of their heart condition. king saul offered generous sacrifices, hoping GOD would overlook his disobedience. david may have assumed that after all he had done on GOD's behalf, GOD would overlook his sin. ananias and sapphira thought that their generous gift to the church would compensate for their deceitfulness. paul was certainly one who had thought his zealousness would please GOD. after his conversation, however he concluded that even if he had faith that could move mountains, gave all he had to feed the poor, offered his body to be burned for the sake of GOD, and yet had a heart that was not right, it would all be for nothing.

we are all susceptible for the same misunderstanding as all of these people were. we can be deceived into assuming GOD is more interested in our activity for HIM than HE is in the condition of our hearts. GOD has consistently made it clear that HE will not be pacified by even the most generous offerings and zealous service if our heart are not right with HIM. no matter how much we do in GOD's service, regardless of how active we are in our church, no matter how honorable our reputation in the christian community, HE will not overlook a sinful heart. HIS desire is that we devote ourselves to knowing HIM and loving HIM with all our hearts.

Here's a part of Father Jerry Orbos homily last Sunday mass......

' Choose peace
dont ever loose peace in your heart.
Your hands maybe full,
but your heart is empty,
choose to unload what lies on your hands.
Your hands maybe empty,
but your heart is full,
choose your heart'

During a phone conversation with my the mother of my staff earlier today, discussing their problems arising from big financial backlogs, unwanted pregnancy of her teenage offspring and her untimely hospital confinement that drew a tight spot and difficult situation to her son, my staff, therefore, affects him personally and his performance in the office, their family belongs to once a powerful and affluent and well respected family in the south, experiencing from riches to rag is something unbearable.. tormenting.
I simply told her, Maam, All these things that you and your family are going through right now, lilipas din ito, at pagdating ng panahon na nalampasan nyo na ito, sabay sabay nyo nalang itong tatawanan with pride, and you conquer the problems with flying colors, but these adversities in life will surely teach us humble lessons, you and you family to become a better persons and marute naturally with time and season, you will rise from fall build a better character and learning the importance of family to unite as one inspite of such unending adversities in life, family unite and faith, the best shields in all sort of life's adversities.'
my parting shot..
The Good Lord will provide
Take it lightly, coz, in times of our sufferings, it is the time that he carries you and purposely, an initiation that we drew closer to Him.
Keep the faith Maam and take it easy. God bless you and He loves you and your family.

(WISHING her family an inner PEACE and HEARt of full..)

THE GOOD LORD WILL PROVIDE
my paboritong tag line in times of difficulty, uncertainty, sufferings, rejoicing, celebrating a victory, before making a major decision and motivating my own team

IF you truly BELIEVE, HE will surely provide and take charge of the rest.

I learned too..
Practicing my neverending scholar in me, still learning the process
in this game called life..

hi bianca... this is a really nice post.. i'm a medical student and reading the bible every so often helps me survive med school, lalo na if there are times that i feel like giving up and like i'm gonna explode because the amount of information we're taking in is almost inhuman... ayon... but reading the bible gets me back to my senses... it also helps if we hang out with really good friends no matter how busy we are. ayon...

bianca, is it true that BLOG is going off-air like breakfast & it's a guy thing..? i hope not... =( i'm an avid fan, though i dont get to watch everytime... and Yspeak too..

waahh. i hope not... =(

It's been a really long time since I last checked in here. I had no idea that this page was active again. It would seem that I've got quite a bit of reading to do to get back up to speed. For what it's worth though, I'm glad you're back to blogging. It's been two years since I last saw you and it was about some business related thing and we didn't really get to talk. Since then You've done wonderfully for yourself and I really am quite happy for you. I am happier still that you've rediscovered the bible. Such faith is a powerful thing.

Hit me back when you can. Best of luck in your endeavors!

the best thing about your blog is that you made the choice to make use of your popularity to share some of God's words. I am still in the process of writing about God's goodness and His words in my blog pero I want it delivered in a different way kaya...di pa rin matapos. hehe. Jer 29:12 is one of my fave. It's an assurance on everything. Siguro one of these days I'll share my powerful verses as well. Keep on blogging! Godbless!

Very Good HolySupergirl...
Bible is like a history book, philosophy book, and story book, etc...
It's nice to know you're spirituality...
in addition to beauty and brains...

Dirty Bible, Clean Life. That's what I like to say =)

Anyways, I like to name my things too hehe..I named my bible "Bo", kasi blue & orange un color niya. At 8months & 4 days old na siya..=)

Continue with what you're doing. You are a person of influence. Use it to God's advantage and for His glory. You never know who is reading your blog.

*Personal Favorite Verse*
Colossians 1:17
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

God's blessings to you!
